NGD GT6 Baritone: pictures
« on: January 11, 2012, 06:39:56 PM »
here you go. i find the wood combo's full of class in this guitar. i really like the rosewood binding/ black/white purfling. this thing is a lot of fun, still working thru how it all works. really dig the sound and although i was kinda concerned about the heavy gauge strings-they are bigger-but not a big deal. the scale being 27" is a little longer than standard, but i'm adapting fast and actually kinda liking the extra space.

more on the report side later as i explore this neat instrument in the future. the short story is:
clean miters/build
beautiful sound
easy to play/fret
nice bone nut
love the rosewood body/fretboard binding

I DIG IT!

Looks like you got that neck back on just fine, Daryl   ;)

Beautiful guitar.  :D

I played a baritone in a store once.  Beautiful sound for sure but not quite sure what I'd do with it.  I imagine it is great if you need to play in lower keys to match your vocal range.

its everything you said it was, and probably a whole lot more as i dig into the mystery.

just changed the string set out tonite for John Pearse 3260L( 80/20 mix and the gauges are smaller......15/22wound/30/43/54/68). i had dropped the action overall with the EXP23's and had actually got pretty used to those big things. "Blue" recommended  this set, and that 22W makes a big difference on that 2nd string-i can bend it :P, the steel 22 was a cable for my fingers.

This set feels like a light gauge on a regular guitar-still sound very nice. adapting daily to the slightly longer fret reach, as you mentioned its not that much more difficult.
hope the GC is treating you right.

Beautiful Baritone, Daryl. You did a superb job on photographing your new guitar too (including the stealth cat  :) )

Beautiful baritone! The first time I ever played a Taylor the longer scale length was unnoticed to me and the larger strings were very easy to play.
