That R Taylor is my only maple guitar and it was an E bay find at a very low price. It's actually the cheapest guitar i own, as far as what i paid for it.
It's also my main gigging guitar. It had a small scratch near the cutaway which looked like a crack, but it wasn't. Considering i know Sydney's Taylor tech very well i wasn't concerned if it was cracked, As i have seen what can be repaired and do some minor repairs and set ups myself.
It's pretty much rounded off my collection for the time being anyway.  8)
teriffic quilt & very nice burst on the RT :)

seeing that there a GA5 in your sig,
the RT must have been a pretty good deal :D

congrats & thanks again for sharing

I love the case.  I assume it was custom built?  Looks great.  You have a great collection of guitars, and the burst on that R Taylor is gorgeous!  Thanks for sharing.

The case was made by me using two book cases to assist in keeping the humidty levels down. I live near the beach and the humidty is often around 80%.

The down lights heat up the interior of the case, it's much easier to control a smaller area than my studio. Mind you i now have the complete room air conditioned.

I am in love with this 2009 GAce Maple Limited.

I looked long and hard at one of these when they first came out.  I decided that I might get tired of maple so I went with cocobolo instead...then in the end traded it for a 614ce!   ::)

Beautiful guitar

Thanks very much.

I never tire of this guitar. It is loud and tonally balanced, almost piano like. The only thing missing is a bit of complexity in the overtones, an omission I am in the process of fixing with a mahogany/sinker BTO.

This thing is tremendously versatile and satisfying, like a comfortable oxford shirt or old blue suit.  This model is really one of Taylor's best kept secrets.
beautiful GAceLTD MA you've got , schooner :)

the adi CV bracing & koa binding/backstrap complement the quilt nicely, too

i can completely relate to your description of tonal balance & complexity/overtones,
which is what exactly what i enjoy in a maple Taylor ... that & the 'old blue suit' ;)

thanks for sharing it with us &
congrats on the incoming sinker/'hog BTO :D

What a classy way to store and display!  I want one.

After looking at the rest of the rigs in this thread... :'(  Here are a few of my humble 2004 414CE L7, Sitka & Rosewood.

That last pic suggests I'm ready for a string change.

Here are a couple pictures of my GA BTO that Jim at Guitar Rodeo hooked me up with.

IT has EIR back and sides, Engelmann top, ebony peg head veneer, Koa binding which really stands out against the dark EIR back and sides. Standard scale, bone nut and saddle, CV Sitka bracing, Gotoh 510 tuners.

It is great for fingerstyle as well as some light strumming.

I have really enjoyed this one and hope to keep it for a long time.

very nice sitka top, Chad -
i really like the grain pattern & the gold tuners too :)

i think the D string just needs a little 'haircut' ;)

+1 Totally agree

I'm usually not a big fan of armrests, but you have done a super job on matching the top, very nice, congrats....
