The thought is nice, but trademark laws apply here.

Any wearable or merch would have to be officially licensed and we do not offer that at this time.

Sorry...

PS - If you guys arrange a get-together somewhere I'm happy to send a "box-o-love" with plenty of Taylor shirts and swag!

Brian

thanks for coming in on this and giving needed guidance.
hey, thanks for being around, its nice to have you here and the info you provide is really appreciated

and thinking more clear today, i really should have contacted Josh first to consider his thoughts of this idea before posting. i'm sure he would have directed me to inquire with Taylor first in private before making a public post as i did.

i believe it would be also - with 4 'wildcards' (*'s),
it could be the Unofficial Tyler Guitar Forum ;)

i have spoke with Brian as mentioned in an above post, regarding the use of only "UTGF" and there's no problem there.

The big things to watch-as any other brand of products(Martin, Harley D, Ford, Chevy, Smith & Wesson, etc)is no infringement on product/design. in this instance that would mean no use of the Taylor headstock shape, pickguard shape, and the name itself.

in hind sight i think i put the cart before the horse. i think we actually need a  "banner" designed first, and then in time one could revisit the T-shirt manufacture, using that banner design.

I'm open to someone designing a banner/logo (obviously WITHOUT the words "Taylor" etc) for the website.   ;)

The banner/header on the forum now is ok...but it's just really simple looking.

I know the t-shirt is in the beginning planning stages, here's the unofficial martin guitar forum designs, I guess they worked out the TM issues with Martin.

They also have an annual gathering called a Martinfest, something for us to work toward....?

I'm going to be in the Nazareth area in February and planning on touring the factory, anyone been there?

Yes, I'm reviving this thread as we have a lot of new members since it was last discussed..... ;D

I was just over at the Telecaster forum and noticed they have a shirt that just says TDPRI with a telecaster guitar on it.

http://www.cafepress.com/tdpri

I know Brian S. said we can't use anything that's officially "Taylor" licensed, TM'd, etc but if we just did UTGF and a guitar I wonder if that passes the test.

Not sure if there would be an issue if we used the Taylor pickguard shape but if so we could just have a naked guitar on the shirt.

When I discussed something with a Taylor rep in the past, I was told we couldn't use anything that would be trade-marked such as their headstock or bridge...so how about a logo something like this:
