Couldn't resist posting my maple as well....

Snaps ...YOU bought Mike's 614 out from under me?!!!

I'd be angry, but Mike's such a good guy that it'd simply be wrong on my part.  :)
My loss, your great gain, friend!  Enjoy that beauty in good health, man!  And if you're ever tire of if and become  interested in a lovely 410ce-L30...  :D

BTW, all this really is starting to look like that old, familiar place we used to call home.  Really great to see you all here!!

Deal, sir!

And truly, enjoy that gorgeous guitar in the best of health and wellness.  Mike, indeed, was doing his best to help me make it happen, but clearly your guitar is the one that worked better for him.  Which is perfect because now you get to enjoy it!  :)

Cindy (followed by Woody) was crazy to let it go, but I'm sure glad they did.

Dang, I'm sorry Edward.  I feel kinda bad.

Don't you feel bad, bud!!  The way I figure it is if it were meant to be for me to get this guit, it would have happened.  Life's too short and too special to sweat these little possesions ...even if yours is AWESOME!  I can hardly complain about anything given the guits I'm Blessed with.  Truly, man, enjoy that beauty.  But yes, don't forget if it ever comes up...  I've got dibs!!  :)

DROOL...maple looks good but this particular burst makes it even better.

By the way, here are my thoughts on the 614CE. At first, its unplugged sound was incomparable to those of other woods. It was just bad. But its plugged in sound was crisp and better than the rest. As time went by, my guitar started sounding better and better with age unplugged. I asked myself if it was just me getting used to the sound but I have to say with age my guitar is sounding better and better.

I've always thought that every 614ce Taylor I've played has had a really special sound. Of all of them however, the tone of those with the 3 piece backs always stood out the most. Not the most striking visually perhaps, but something just a little different about the tone of those 3 piecers.

Add my welcome to the list, and.........I'm a Maple Minority too,

Man! I just love the honeygold color on that 614!!!  And quilted maple is one of the most stunning figures I've ever seen in wood.
Here's mine again, the GSLJ (like a 610):

And here's a picture I found on another forum of someone's green 616.

The first time I saw one of those Paul Reed Smith archtop electrics in the quilted maple and wild colors I was smitten and knew someday I'd have a guitar like that!
