That'll be me then.. #72

I bought this very guitar from the shop where this video was shot...and I mean, this very guitar!  After getting it home yesterday, I was Googling reviews and saw the salesman playing this....when he showed the back, the figure in the cherry was a dead match. He's playing my guitar.

It's a wonderful little guitar, light as a feather ...seriously I weighed it: 3 pounds, 1 ounce, and it's got to be the easiest playing guitar I've ever owned. It's the ultimate couch guitar but you can drive it hard and it still sounds great. Notes bend themselves....I LOVE IT!

#73............ and #74, because I am a VERY sick man and my GAS is nigh unto terminal.

I ordered this Heritage 155 M in July as a custom build, it was supposed to arrive in mid September, but the Gods of the Six Strings were apparently pleased by something or other...

these next 4 pics were taken by Harry. His shop is set up to professionally photograph guitars, and it shows.

and just  because I thought it looked lonely on the wall, a Schecter custom shop PT Vintage HS using their Pasadena pickups. This one was ordered by some fellow who wanted a maple fret board. When it came in with rosewood, he passed. So Harry hung it on the wall, and it cried out to me today. "Please! Please take me home with you!" And so I did.

Tasty butterscotch finished Tele goodness. How could anyone possibly say no that that. I couldn't.
I play badly, but I make up for it by being slow.

......yeah, me again.

This just arrived in the UPS Truck of Love. Freshly acquired off of Reverb, a Peavey T-30 short scale made in 1982. I already have a T-15, so I needed this one to complete the set.

I do hereby solemnly swear I will not buy another guitar.

This week.

The UPS Truck of Love pulled up while I was washing the El Presidente Grande Buickismo and yielded forth this bit of Gibson history:

Yes indeed, one of the Government Issue II Flying Vs. This specimen is in good shape and has the signed certificate along with the factory check list, the secret Gibson codes and a map to the Fortress of Solitude. As soon as I gas up the V, I am flyin' to the north pole.

Well, another week and another visit from the UPS Truck of Love. Once again, the intrepid driver of the Big Brown Truck has found his way to my secluded and pastoral retreat somewhere north of Oxford and this time he has produced an old Ovation 1868 Elite. This particular item was made in 1992 and it is showing its age. It has a couple of scars, a scuff or three and even a nick or two. I am going to head down to the bustling metropolis that is Raleigh NC and let "My Guy" take a look at it and see what sort of miracles he can perform. Pictures? I thought you might never ask.

Unless I trip over a pre-1969 Byrdland, I do not intend to buy another guitar this week.

When you're happy you enjoy the music. But, when you're sad you understand the lyrics.

My guess this will be #86

I've never gone to any guitar shows or demos.  In fact, I don't really know too many other players despite my incredible interests and long term playing (50 + years ).  I walked away from a Taylor Roadshow a week ago with this T5 Cocobolo

Make me #87, although had I been more with it, more likely I`d be somewhere in the middle 40`s..

After a first test-flight on a T5 at NAMM in 2012, I found myself seriously GAS-sing for one. A second test run in the middle of the Pacific Ocean two years later only solidified the cravings when I was lucky enough to spend a quarter hour with a Koa example of the then brand-new T5z.

Long story short- I went to a Road show in April of this year near my home and came back with this lovely mahogany example, which has pride of place in the stand by the china cabinet, where my long-suffering guitar widow wife likes that it "fits in better" with the china cabinet than the previous denizen, my Ric 370/12.

(edit- apologies for the image. cell phones aren't the best)
