I'm just going to reply here since there doesn't seem to be another spot.
Josh are you planning on having any subforums and do you want suggestions?
I was thinking maybe a FAQ/forum-issues sub, where we could ask about things like will we have a Sig Line function in the future?

Other than that, I think maybe just keep the one main forum for awhile and see what kinds of themes develop and organize from there.
I've seen other startup forums come and go quickly due to having way too many subforums that just get too 'thin'.

Thanks again for hosting!

Not Darth, great questions!  As of right now, we'll probably leave it without sub-forums for the exact reason that you stated.  :) However do be thinking about possible "sub-forums" for the future.  I think at this point, the most important thing we can do is to build this small community!  Tell all your friends that love guitars! (especially the Taylor type)  ;)

As to your sig line, you should be able to modify that already...many here have done so already.

1. Click profile
2. Click "modify profile"
3. Click "forum profile"
4. Edit your sig line
5. Click "click change profile" in lower left corner.  :)

Glad to have ya Darth!

Your humble subject would like to know what you think about these subtypes

Share - Share video and audio recordings your performances
Buy, Sell, & Trade - buy, sell and trade your guitars and other gears

Hey Rudals1281,
Those sub-forums sound great.  We'll definitely keep those in mind for the future!  Once we get well established...we'll move to add sub-forums.  ;D

could i make one itsy-bitsy, teeny-tiny, little insignificant minor suggestion -
please refrain from pricing discussions

i know, i know ... this is coming from the 'old school', but it seems like it could prevent a lot of 'phishing' -
someone picks up ('steals') a guitar for 'a song' & is all hopped-up & raring to sell it (presumably to retire)

a little searching & it's discovered what the person paid for it (then, the inevitable can of worms opens) ...

PM could be utilized for this & if it is a guitar someone is considering buying,
then at least that person would have a chance at it (esp if it is an internet listing),
rather than the link being posted with 'is this worth it?' only to find out someone
else, that didn't know about the guitar otherwise, already bought it to flip it

just a thought ...

we now return to our regularly scheduled program, already in progress
it's not about what you play,
it's all about why you play ...

I'll third that ... I like keeping price out of the public discussions ... there is always private messaging and I think that is the best method for keeping things centered on the guitars rather than economics ... case in point, I hate to see a thread go for multiple posts about someone not getting the best deal and examples of all the great deals others got ... no offense to anyone but sometimes that can make a NGD feel sour rather than a joyous occassion to celebrate with friends .... IMHOs of course.

It's a done deal then!  Thank you all.

I'll change the first post to reflect the wishes here!

No price discussion in public.  BUT definitely PM eachother for prices etc!!!!!!

Totally agree here too.. The other forums were far better when pricing discussion was kept out..

Hi All,

So glad to have each and every one of you here.  I thought I'd post some ground rules if you will allow me to.  I'm not a power hungry, dictator at all.  Here are just some rules to keep this forum going and friendly.

1. No bad language.
2. No bashing of others opinions.
3. No bashing of other forum boards, or guitar companies.  After all...we all love Taylor!  What more do we need?   :D
4. No dealers/companies advertising right now. (Actively trying to sell your goods to users.) At some point we may look at
    sponsors etc.   ;)
5. No price discussion in public forums.  PLEASE DO feel welcome to send eachother PM's about pricing etc.

6. Have a great time!
7. Encourage others to join our young community!
8. Post often and enjoy each others company!

If you all have any feedback feel free to post your opinions!
You might want to consider whether or not to allow discussion of the more difficult non-guitar related topics of politics and religion. Even among trusted friends, these can be tough. And some guitar topics, such as the Lacey Act and raids on Gibson, can attract lots of political opinions. Don't ask me how I know... :)

No open discussion about religion and politics.
