NGD: Cedar Rosewood
« on: April 26, 2016, 10:09:36 PM »
Well, although I'm not 100% satisfied with the lack of torrefication options and the 500 series only receiving Performance (as opposed to Advanced Performance) bracing, I figured I'd get a Cedar Rosewood to get me by in the meantime...

All Together, I think you're going to altogether love a cedar topped Taylor.  Even without performance bracing, it's a fantastic experience to get that kind of response from a light touch, and even strummed, they sound great.  I don't hear the breakup happen even at heavy strumming that most people talk about when discussing cedar.  Enjoy it and let us know how you like it in the days to come.

Congats ... please keeps us informed. I'm between that and a 414. I love the 414 but I can't find a 314ce cedar rw to play. I know it will be wonderful I like cedar tops. Again congratulations on the new guitar

Yes, I previously owned a 714ce so am familiar with the Cedar Rosewood tone, it's the ES2 I'm primarily interested in spending sometime with this time around!

Cedar is pretty special in my book, and Taylor does cedar so well. You'll love that beautiful gem!
