I just joined the new forum last week. I've been playing guitar since 1973 with a hiatus in the late 80's. I own and have owned many dozens of guitars and amps over that time and have had a Martin HD-28 since 1979.
I "discovered" Taylor back in about 1999 or 2000 when I happened upon a couple at the Mars Music headquarters store here. I immediately fell hard for the tone and playability of these fine instruments.
I had been looking for a slightly lower cost alternative to my HD-28 that I could take anywhere and not be concerned about it. I actually purchased a few Epis, Yamis, Taks in my quest but none could hold a candle to the HD-28 - not that I expected them to, I was just hoping to find something that was at least in the ballpark. No luck.
I loved the Taylors that I played but they were a bit out of my price range at the time so I kept looking. I finally found a 310ce used for a great price so I bought it and that started my Taylor journey. I did sell that 310ce but have purchased 7 more since then...
