Our band plays traditional Scandinavian folk music.  Mostly Swedish, with Finland, Norway and Denmark also represented.

Also play backup guitar in old-time music sessions.  And will play the occasional contra dance.

When sitting around at home just noodling around, will often flatpick fiddle tunes on my 320.

First time logging in for quite a while.  Got a lot of catching up to do.

In response to the inquiry, I play probably 90 % gospel music these days.  I will play in churches, church related events, etc.  Sometimes I am playing along side other musicians, but the last two time out it has been me as a solo.

When I hook up with other musicians at a jam, we play mostly country with a little of the oldies rock thrown in.  If me alone, I play more of the rock than the country when at home enjoying the guitar.

I play primarily originals when at home, while dabbling in the occasional cover.  I would like to begin playing some of them out at some point, and have recently purchased an old Apogee One to record some of them.  I also lead worship, so CCM and some hymns adapted to acoustic.

This morning I played some classic rock, as in Jethro Tull's Mother Goose and Wond'ring Aloud, then on to Blackbird.  I also started on some Christmas music(tis the season ya know).

I also reminded myself that all those songs sounded better on my Taylor.    ;D

Imagine - Paul Lennon
Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clampton
Various Christmas carols
Over The Rainbow - chord melody

I'm a beginner+ working hard at getting good enough to start playing jazz chords. Goal is to play jazz versions of old standards. Hopefully in this lifetime.

lookinup, did you check out the Knopler and Atkins youtube from the other lounge thread?

they do "imagine" as the second song.  you might be able to steal some licks and tricks for the song.

I'm all over the place with this one. My wife sing duets of some Native American songs (Kate Wolf, Bill Miller). A bunch of 60's & 70's Folk and acoustic Rock (Eagles etc.)
A few more contemporary popular rock songs. A few original intrumentals.

This time of the year it is Christmas music.  For next couple of days it is Away In The Manger, finger style.

Don,

Thanks for the link. Knopler & Atkins are amazing together - Imagine was beautiful. Think I'm still too much of a beginner to even know what to 'steal' from it - at 6 months of learning, I can just play the chords and sing along with it (sort of), but I've bookmarked the video and will return to it as I learn to play better.

suppose i should have used 'assimilate' instead of 'steal'; sounds nicer in a borgish sort of way.  ::)

Yes donlyn, that was a rather bourgeois tone you were setting.  As a moderator, I thought it was only proper for me to touch on this issue.   ;D ;D ;D
