I recently tried the HD lights on my 314ce and didn't care for the sound at all. Killed the punchy twang that I love so much. I switched the three offending strings back to lights after 10 minutes.

I restrung my 524ce with HD lights after trying on a set of Nanoweb PB lights. Taylor got it right using HD lights on the 524ce. I might get brave and try a full set of mediums on the next string change.
I put mediums on my 514ce WW cv and they do perform well.  Great tone.  A little different feel on the fingers, but easily overcome.

Thanks for all the replies - both positive and negative on the HD Lights!

A couple more questions:

For those running HD Lights on a GA, which are you using: Phosphor Bronze or 80/20? (Also, which guitar? - 314, 414, 814, etc...) Have you tried the other version of strings (e.g. 80/20 if you use Phosphor Bronze, or vice versa)?

TIA!

I've never liked 80/20 on any string.  The Phosphor Bronze always sounds better to me.  It's all a personal preference, though.  Try them both out, and see which one you like better.

So after a couple of days playing with the HD lights on my 114 they sound great! Definitely improved the tone IMO anyway. In fact i would say they did exactly what the description claimed they would do, full low end, punchier would describe it better to my ears. And nice clear high strings.

Thanks everyone for the feedback on these strings. All though they may not be for everyone it all comes down to preference and what your ear likes right? But for me they work great.
