That's a classic jumbo maple guitar if I ever saw one - I'll bet that it sounds fantastic by now - love that quilt too. Can't wait to post pics of my new maple BTO that should arrive sometime in November!

once i get 'er done up just the way i have the 410MA set
i'll see about trying to put a simple sound clip up somewhere -
we'll see who can guess which is which, as pre standard II bracing was the same on
the DN & JM back then, although the 615 is the original 'pre-redesign' body shape

your BTO GA #6 was spec'd out at the end of august,
so i'd think the wait's more than half over (not too much longer) -
did you end up staying with the sitka CV or did you go with adi ?

either way, i don't think there are very many CV engelmann/maple GAs
out there (the 08 fall GAceLTD-MAs & wildwood CV 600s are sitka/adi CV) -
yours oughta be a nice'un :)

@michaelw, that's a beautiful 615 Jumbo!

Did you recently acquire it, or has it been in your collection?

thanks gary :)

i just got 'er -
the neck block label & case both say 'santee, ca', but according to the 'dating your guitar'
year/serial # chart, there should have been about 130 guitars made before it in el cajon :-\

i traded some gear to a friend that i'd bought new & hardly used & he traded me
a guitar he bought new & rarely played ... it worked out pretty well for both of us :D

I went with sitka CV bracing, so I'm hoping that will do the trick....
