414ce w/ ES2 -- Questions
« on: April 06, 2015, 10:33:30 AM »
Hey all..
Picked up a new 414ce last month.

It has the new ES2 pickup system.

I am about to do some live shows and need clarification.

What would be the best / cleanest way to connect to PA ?

 A) Just straight in with 1/4 instrument cable
 b) TSR>XLR (Balanced)
 c)  Use a  D/I and or EQ like the Baggs Para or Venue?

Lastly I am looking at the Fishman ToneDEQ .. Nice little all in one effect EQ and DI.
Anyone try this with a Taylor ES2?

Any advice would be great..

OP - Here.

I got a reply from Taylor Support team via Live Chat (very cool and quick).

The ES2 isn't designed to work balanced, so just use a standard 1/4" mono cable.

Have the same type of guitar, and also play live (at church).  I've attached a copy of the "entry-level" pedal board I've pieced together, primarily for a) connection to the P/A system, and b) an in-line tuner.  We've been really happy with the Radial gear, the ProDI has been a major improvement over the more "cost effective/cheaper" brands.  Don't use the effects to a great deal yet, but will as I continue to improve.

Hope this helps!
