My daughter wants the 114e SSB. Pricing seems reasonable.

I sure do like the sunburst.  This guitar has some very nice features.  Solid top, ES-T.  I think Taylor is hitting home runs in the 100 series this year.  Only might change one thing, and that is a new TRC, there are some nice ones made of real rosewood that would match the rosewood peg head overlay.

i prefer the silhouette of the no-c 100s, but if cutaway profile was the same as the 300s/up, like the way eastman &
martin are consistent with their cutaway solid top/all solid wood models it would be much more appealing, imho

until martin offers a burst GPCPA5 or DPCPA5 model, the 100s seem very reasonable (no upcharge),
especially with the ebony fretboards/bridges/solid wood necks & "real wood" back & sides
http://www.martinguitar.com/series/item/927-gpcpa5k.html

a sunburst 300 or 400 series (with a cedar top) would make for a nice LTD, imho

the rosewood TRC would be a nice touch to bring back to match the headstock overlay, imho -
they used to be rosewood, but black plastic is used on the minis & T3/5s also, but i'm wondering
if it might  have to do with not just additional labor, but potential warranty replacement requests
(durability). especially from high humidity areas, as a rosewood TRC might  be more prone to cracking

maybe a grained rosewoodoid TRC ???

Terrific info, Michael! Thanks for sharing. :) The burst tops really stand out, and to have them available on the 100 series, I'll bet a lot of people will be trying this model.

for a bit a tonal difference, i think that sapele top 100s could be pretty nice additions as well -
sort of in the vein of a DRS1, but with the playability & adjustability of a Taylor NT neck
http://www.martinguitar.com/series/item/164-drs1.html

a satin shaded edgeburst sapele top at this $ point on a 120/124e would be interesting :)

that would be pretty 8)

seeing that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the GC, the third body shape
Taylor added to their lineup (in 84), i'd say it's not out of the realm of possibility

less than 18 days until summer NAMM :)
