I remember seeing a thread on the AGF re a guy that was doing curly maple TRC's that would look nice on the HV GS mini. Maybe you could check it out.

Here's the link I was talking about. I "won" one of his TRC that I ended up putting on my 414 (pau ferro). Here he's giving away the curly maple. His TRC are pretty nice and he's a super guy. Maybe if you contact him (and offer to pay), he'll make one for your HV GS mini. Good luck.

If you are looking for a truss rod cover with a personal touch, check out the beautiful inlay work by Douwe Siegersma (www.trussrodcovers.nl / d.siegersma@home.nl). He only uses genuine mother of pearl and cuts it with sophisticated craftmanship. Douwe personilized my three Taylors (incl. my Mini, see pic) with a rifined treble clef on precisely carved Taylor truss rod covers made out of three different matching tropical woods.

I am into music and not into gaelic symbolism, palm trees, dolphins, or idols... :)
Moreover during my working life the treble clef - G(ood) clef! - has been my initial to approve memo's going to my minister.

Been working with Bruce @ petrosguitars.com for the last few months on some custom TRCs for my Mini / T5z / 316ce. Just received them today and I couldn't be more pleased. He was a complete pleasure to deal with. I know he and his son want to spend their time building really beautiful guitars, but for those of us who can't quite afford one yet, this was a nice treat. They are rosewood laminate (laminate is what gives the darkened carved parts effect). They incorporate my family's heraldic crest and a fleur de lis to tie in our south Louisiana heritage. They weren't cheap, but I have ZERO remorse for paying a little more for something from such a quality luthier with some very personal symbolism. Plus, I can take them off my current batch of guitars and move them to whatever's next--not that I would EVER trade or consider buying more guitars... that would be crazy, right?

All good suggestions. I'm gonna try to make one of my own and see what happens, I've got some nice cherry wood. Certainly can't do inlays, but may be able to burn a design in there. How hard could it be?
(That's a joke, it'll probably frustrate me no end.)
