? drop in replacement tuners for my 1995 412
« on: June 05, 2014, 09:26:44 PM »
Never having owned a Taylor of this vintage, i figure some folks here have and have replaced the tuners. These appear to be stock, never changed, Grover Rotomatic with a 6 o clock screw position, silver.
They work, but have a little slop in the play and do not give me that nth degree of final tuning touch i like.

Was hoping something in the Gotoh line will fit, but not necessary. Even current stock taylor tuners would be fine.

So, anyone out there replace a 1995 vintage taylor with the Grovers and what did you use, and how did you like the fit?
18 or 21 ratio is fine.

thanks
d

thanks for that info Michael. I contacted Josh at Japarts a couple days ago and he has some 301's headed my way. Supposed to be drop in with almost exact footprints, will be interesting to check that out.

thanks for your help and info
