Hi Pie,

May I ask why you're replacing the pickups?  Electric guitar pups are the lion's share of its tone/dynamics and frankly, there is a sea of varieties out there in tone land ...enough choice to drown in, really.  But when it comes to tone, options are a good thing, right?  Have you considered the plethora of pickup choices that are available out there in gear land?  Just wondering aloud :)

Hello Edward.Very eloquently put.And yes while change and options indeed are good in life and certainly when it comes to guitars and their multitude of sounds,my concern is over the fact that I maybe limited to that very process. My fear is based on the fact that Taylor stopped making solidbody guitars several years ago therefore obtaining, unless I am mistaken, any parts might prove difficult .What it comes down to is that I just need to replace my HD pickups. Thanks for your time and if anyone knows where I may acquire a pair, please let me know.Pie

the pickups on the TaylorWare page appear to be full size -
if your Custom has 3/4 size humbuckers, they are not a direct replacement

Ahhh, gotcha.  So you simply want to replace your existing Taylor pups with HDs?  May I ask why? (...yeah, I'm being nosy ;)  )
And here's why I ask: if you love the sound of the HDs, then great ...source them out.  Perhaps folks better adept at finding such niche stuff can help you as all I know is google :) .  But if you're concerned that pickups are somehow proprietary, or that Taylor pups work "better" in a Taylor guitar, then simply know that most any pup can be wired into most any electric.  Yours are humbuckers? mini hums? single coils?  All are available in as many tonal "colors" as you can imagine.  Again, if you love the factory HDs, then that's perfectly fine, too.  I'm just offering you options if that makes it any easier for you to fix things up.  :)
