Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald - Gordon Lightfoot

(Being a Michigander and the fact that the Edmund Fitzgerald sank on my 12th birthday, this song (and the history of the ship) is special to me. I even touched the bell recovered from the ship (uh oh  :o)).

Hi TG,

The Edmund Fitzgerald sank the night before my 16th birthday, so that was the big headline in the newspapers that day.  I also happened to snap a few pics of it going through the Soo Locks a couple of years prior during a family vacation to the UP.  This song always had some special meaning to me, and I perform it regularly.  I even got to hear Gordon perform it once in the Old Mariner's Church on an anniversary of the sinking.  I have not been to the Great Lakes museum on Belle Isle since they recovered the ship's bell, however...
