chrome tuning pegs, how do you clean 'em?

to remove tarnish & fingerprint etching on metal buttons, i use
0000 steel wool & give it a few wipes using very gentle pressure -
a bit of liquid carnauba wax on a clean soft cloth will polish 'em right up

i use the stainless steel cleaner fron the kitchen. gets rid of the smudges and leaves a nice coat of polish.

Plus this will help to ward off new finger prints  and deterioration. ;)

that could work too & hopefully there won't being any ingredients in the polish that
might adversely react with the finish on the headstock, should some of it get on there
