It's supposed to be 102 degrees here today.

Welcome to October in southern California...

Possibility of snow in the high country, above 9,000 ft. for Wednesday.  Now this is getting close to me, I live at 7220 ft.

There's over a foot of snow in northern MN as of mid-week, tonight here an hour south of the Twin Cities they're talking flurries tonight.  Blecch.

Next weekend I'm going to be hunting/camping in the upper middle part of the state, that should be interesting!

Chicago - the city where you live for vacation one week and when you come back there's snow. :)

Ok not that bad but still, pretty bad winters, luckily not the past year. Hoping this year is not bad.

Winter has started for us here at the edge of no return.  Close to a foot of snow and 3 deg.

I live at the northeastern area of the SF Bay Area. Wow, it was 37* this morning! I have lived in TN, HI, WI, and MI, and have appreciated aspects of the weather in each of those areas. But the area I live in now (weatherwise) is poifect. Close enough to the water that freezing is extremely rare, and so it temps above the low 90's. Humidity is just right, though I still have to use a humidipak to keep in down a bit more. What's cool about where I live is that if I want to go to the snow it's just a few hours east, and if I want a mild day on the sand, that's just an 1.5 hours west.

We lived in the Black Hills in western South Dakota for a lot of years... not far from 2 ski areas.  That should give you an idea about the winter weather.  Being a boat guy, I prefer my water to be liquid.  "Winter weather" is coming to our area in the Tropical Tip of Texas by friday.  Just over 80º here today, it will be in the upper 40s to low 50s this weekend, cold north wind, and rain.  Sure beats shoveling snow and sub-zero temps.  This island boy prefers the warmth.  Fortunately, when a norther does blow into this area, it is usually a 3 or 4 day event, then it's back to sunny and pleasant.  Average daytime high here in January is 70º.

Our local weather weasels (the TV weather guessers) LOVE it when a norther blows in - gives 'em something to talk about.

Just a update here in Wyoming I woke up to -21deg.  I am enjoying my heated car seats and heated steering wheel, as I take my wife to work.  How did I ever survive 20 years ago, am I getting soft as I age  ;D ;D ;D

.  We wish we lived more north.
that's just crazy talk i tell ya !!!  -15 degrees sucks ! humidifiers working overtime,  it's actually not much different than the California spa/resort town of 29 Palms( "30 miles from water) that i spent a few brutal summers in.  $400 mo. electric bills ( even though i still use the fireplaces sometimes... never buy a house up north on "the lake", no wind blockage). if your car's door seals aren't perfect the doors freeze shut .... oh so many things to hate about winter ! but i do have fantastic views of the snow/ice covered Adirondack mountains and the Green mountains just across the lake.  small price to pay really for choosing to live away from everything. spectacularly beautifuls summers drew me here, no thought of winters to come.... shoulda talked to the locals !!!  :o
