if i'm not mistaken, the 100/200 series utilize a 1 7/8 nut/neck width and the 300 series and up use the 1 3/4" necks.
i don't have a preferance myself. i have guitars with both and switch between them without issues.

The 100/200 have a narrower 1 11/16 neck.  The 300's and above all have a 1 3/4 nut.  You can get the 300's and above modified to a 1 11/6th (or at least you used to be able to, I don't know now).

1 7/8ths nut widths go on 12 strings guitars or the odd GC (custom order).  I switch between all the different widths with little trouble as well.  I do prefer the 1 3/4" nut width Taylor has been using since the mid 90s.

OK,,DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY THEY WOULD USE A SMALLER NUT WIDTH ON THE 200 SERIES?

Why narrower on 100-200?  Just my uneducated 2 cents, but these entry level Taylors are presumed to appeal to newer players or electric guitar crossover players whose playing style  might be more comfortably accomplished on a narrower neck.

My first Taylor was a 114ce.  Over the years, all considered guitars got compared to the ES335 that I've owned since I was 13.  That 114 felt right.  At the time, I didn't know why I liked it better than the 314.  This makes a lot of sense!
