Taylor's website

It has been a couple of days that Taylor's website has been down. The legacy website still works but the new site, www.taylorguitars.com is not working. I wonder what is wrong?

I found the problem. Taylor is using Amazon Web Services and that is causing the issue. What I mean is, AWS (Amazon Web Services) is a poor choice to host a website since their poor uptime of services is kind of a joke in the hosting community. I hope Taylor realizes that and moves to an VPS hosting company that is rock solid.

BTW, the site is now intermittent which is the typical symptom of being on AWS.

AWS assigned two IPs to www.taylorguitars.com for redundancy however, one of them is not working and that is why the site is not coming up if your DNS happens to resolve to the failing IP address.

I wondered about this, because I had been there a couple of times with no problems.

My home DNS server (I use google) grabs the bad IP but my work DNS servers are getting the good IP.

If you enter the non working IP 54.235.139.202 into your browser you will see it hangs.

I just tried both addresses and [size=78%]54.235.139.202 does not presently work. The domain name and [/size][size=78%]184.73.248.88 work [/size]slightly slower than usual.

I am on and off the site quite a bit and have not had any problems. I primarily use FireFox if that makes any difference.
