The Taylor website specs on this guitar are different from the ones that are now being advertised and that are described in Wood and Steel. The website says it will have a tusq nut and micarta saddle. They say there is no fretboard inlay and that the rosette will be rosewood, blackwood and rosewood. Those must have been the original specs before Andy Powers got inspired. I like what he's done with it. The Avian fretboard inlays are gorgeous.
The website specs also say it will have an Expression System and not a "New Expression System." I'm thinking they upgraded the nut and the saddle when they decided to put the New Expression system in.
I might have had something to do with the changes in the description of the nut and saddle on their website. I emailed them to say nut and saddle was bone as described on their website or tusq nut and micarta saddle as advertised by the dealer. The next day they changed it on their description. From what I heard the micarta saddle was more consistent for the "New Expression". All I can say is I can't complain about the way the new expression works.
