Two Year Anniversary Celebration...
« on: July 16, 2013, 07:28:07 PM »
...of my 2011 BTO. Man, this guitar sounds better every day! It sits in equal company with my '95 and '97 Taylors...and that's saying a lot. It certainly doesn't sound like them; it's got a vibe all its own. Beautiful to the ear on its own, it also support my vocals in the best way possible. So glad I made the following choices:

non-cutaway GA (what else?) sinker redwood top, ovangkol back and sides, CV Adi bracing, bone saddle/nut, Macassar ebony fretboard /bridge, ovangkol headstock overlay, maple binding/rosette. Gotoh tuners..and now some pics as a reminder:

What a gem!
My Taylor Grand Auditoriums:

1997 Cujo14 - old growth cedar/black walnut
2014 K24e - master grade koa
2018 Custom GA - bear claw sitka spruce/mahogany
2019 614 - torrified sitka spruce/flamed maple
2020 714 - lutz spruce/rosewood

It is strikingly beautiful.....happy anniversary to you! May you enjoy many more years with it. Sounds like you made all the right choices with it.

Wow. What a visually stunning guitar. The wood pairings are awesome. The fretboard is my favorite appointment. The marbling is beautiful and isn't interrupted by fret markers. Looks good on the bridge too.  :)

Congrats on your 2 year anniversary.

That is a really beautiful guitar. I love the wood and the grain just pops.

Thanks for all your kind replies. I will say that this BTO experience has served and will continue to serve as a solid foundation for subsequent BTO decisions concerning what to do and what not to do.
