We won't get a Road Show here until the Fall.

We ARE getting a Find Your Fit next month, though. I always like checking out the guitars the Rep brings along with him.

Honestly....um, well the "sales" guy, I didn't think did as good of a job as the one I had seen in fall of '11.  The talent guy, I believe was the same guy and he's solid.

As far as what I bought, it was nothing....really didn't have the budget or the need.  I did play a few really nice pieces.  I played a custom KOA GO, which was crazy nice, but way more than I can see spending.  I played a very nice 12 fret with the open headstock and a coco GS, but like I said, just not in the cards right now.  I was also very impressed with the demo of the T5.  That actually could be something I might ultimately GAS for.

I had brought 2 (and actually planned to bring three) others hoping something would move them.  One in particular because, while I don't want to say anything directly to him and even though he's a decent player, the box he plays right now sounds like absolute garbage.  But alas.....he seemed pretty disinterested and appeared just be enjoying the night out.

Interesting, what exactly do they do there?sit and watch the Taylor guys do demo's?Asking cause i' m going to one in May downtown Calgary and just hope I don' t get caught up with impulse buying and come home with a 5 thousand dollar 8string baritone all done up cause it won't go well with the wife on my 1 st month of being retired.

At a good one, they will go through the "things that matter"......first, they will talk about the different shapes and how playing styles are brought out by them.  Then they will talk about the different tone-woods.  Ideally, you want to hear the "talent" guy play the same thing over and over on each one so that you can hear the differences.  They'll then talk about the ES, the neck, and anything else you want to talk about.  Plus you will have a chance to play (and buy) some unique pieces with some discount incentives.

As far as the buy part, of course they want to sell guitars, but it is far from a hard sell....as low pressure as it gets.
