Hello from New York
« on: April 06, 2013, 07:47:20 PM »
I just picked up a new 2012 416ce... This is my first Taylor coming from a 1990 Yamaha FG450SA... It plays so nice I didn't even notice it had medium gauge strings.. I am a strong strummer and enjoy the power and volume this guitar delivers...  Guess that's why I picked it!  Played Gibson's, Martins, etc.. this just seamed to fit... Great site.. Tons of info... Thank to all for posting... Hello from New York...! :)

Great to have you here Jalex!  Congrats on your new 416ce!  The GS line is one heck of a guitar!  ;D

Welcome Jalex and congratulations on your purchase. Make sure that you invest in a quality humidification device.  Inexplicably, lower priced guitars sometime don't need one and the sound board never cracks.  But it is absolutely essential for your Taylor, at least until you stop using your furnace.  I had an Alavarez that I never humidified when living in a cold climate.  But my brother's 910 developed two cracks one winter because he failed to check up on the device he was using.  Enjoy the forum!

Thanks for the heads up on the humidification... I am planning on getting one. Just nervous putting it inside the guitar... Guess like everyone is.. Thinking of the oasis?

Its a great choice.  I used one for years with no problems.  Easy to see if it needs more water. Make sure you keep the guitar in it's case.
