Hi from Pinehurst, NC
« on: February 22, 2013, 09:05:35 AM »
I just found this site, looks like fun. My name is Rick. I started playing in 1960, played in a rock band in high school, 63-66, then life happened. Started again in 1992, bought a Taylor in 1994. It's a 93 model 420 sitka top, rosewood back and sides. I played for a couple years and then more life. I'm now retired and play a lot. The guitar has aged well and sounds great. I have been thinking about upgrading, maybe a grand concert. I think the smaller scale and lower tension may be easier to play. I have to travel about an hour to a guitar center, maybe soon.

Hi Rick and welcome to the forum! :) Aren't they any privately owned music shops in your area? I only ask because many times Guitar Center only carries a handful of Taylor models. I've found a better selection at a local private music store. Good luck in your search and nice to have you here.

Only two small shops. No Taylors

Pinehurst is great for golf, not so great for guitars.

Welcome to the forum Rick.  Good luck on the quest, this is half the fun(the hunt).  I would second the idea of finding a shop that might carry a few more Taylors in stock to try.  The last time I went to GC they only had 4 models.
