Acronym question
« on: February 16, 2013, 09:32:00 PM »
Ok, so I am having some problems deciphering the acronyms on a taylor I saw at GC. Hopefully y'all can help fill in the blanks.  The price tag reads:

TAYLOR 615CE-TS WC JUMBO AE SITKA SPRUCE TOP QLT MPL B&S TOB SNBST

Here is what I have figured out:

Taylor 615 cutaway electronics - ??? ??? Jumbo ??? Sitka spruce top quilted maple back and sides tobacco sunburst.

I am assuming that the AE stands for acoustic electric. But I am totally lost on the TS and the WC.
Any ideas?

I would have to guess that the TS = Tobacco Sunburst (I know... it's redundant)  and the WC= definitely means ..With Case
I just bought a Taylor from GC online and had to decipher some of this stuff too.  Hope this helps!

Don't sweat it....the first time I came across that abbreviation I was at a GC and my usual guy wasn't there.  There was a Taylor hanging high up on the wall and I couldn't make out the model.  I asked the guy working the acoustic room what it was.  He got a ladder and went up and looked and reported back that it was "the WC model".  I said, "hmmmm....I'm pretty familiar with Taylor's model naming scheme....I'm not familiar with that one".  He then answered back that Taylor was always coming out with new models.  FAIL.  I made him get it down, it was a 214ce.

It was one thing for me not to know what WC stood for, and I felt stupid enough once I got it, but for the guy working the acoustic room at a GC not to know it.....well let's just say I shan't be working with him in the foreseeable future.

Evidently you found a GC that still has a 615ce Sitka/Maple Jumbo.  The 2011 model year was the last year for the 615ce.
