114ce sound issues/Expression System

I have a 114CE and I think that something may be up with the Expression System. I bought the guitar used last summer (But I did not plug it into an amp to test). I'm using a Fishman Loudbox Artist, which in my opinion is one of the best amps on the market. I just can't get the 114CE to sound good. I also have an Ovation Elite, an old Epiphone (Fishman), Seagull Coastline Slim and a Gitano classical. They all sound great through the Fishman. The Taylor has NO low end and the volume of the low E is weak. I try kicking up the bass and it starts to feedback. I even use a feedback buster. I have to run it through a 30 band EQ to get it to sound half way desent. I'm ready to sell this thing unless it can be fixed. I would appreciate ANY suggestions.

It does sound like something is faulty with the ES-T with your 114ce ... I also have a 114ce and Fishman Loudbox Artist and mine sounds really good through it ... if it were me, I'd take it in to the shop to be checked out ... even if you try to sell it, you'd need the ES-T to be in good working order IMO ...

Before you do anything you should buy an XLR cable and a lo-hi Impedance transformer. I had the same issue withmy 814 plugged into a Loudbox Mini. Then I bought an Audix T50 Impedance Transformer and a Monster Cable Studiolink balanced cable (1/4" plug on one end, XLR on the other) and it solved the problem. The volume increased tremendously with this setup as compared to a standard cable. You ought to check it out. I bet it will work for you too.

I run my guitar into two TC Helicon harmonizers which terminates, of course at the amp. Question, can I plug the Audix T50 Impedance Transformer into the harmonizer output or should I put it first in the chain?

Mine is configured this way...

Monster 1/4" plug into guitar
Monster XLR end connected to XLR of Audix
Audix 1/4" end plugged into the amp (or looper, then amp)

Not being an expert on these things, I hesitate answering your question specifically. All I know is that what I have described works well for me. I don't know anything about Helicon harmonizers. Sorry.

As a test, I removed the feedback buster and DOH!!! The low end returned. Now, if only I can get away without any feedback I'll be in good shape. Should have tried that first. Thanks for all your help, Jim.

The impedance transformer should be on the end of your guitar cable and plugged into the first device in your chain.

When I had a 114ce, I discovered that the ES-t made no difference with an XLR cable or trs vs a standard guitar cable.  I didn't try it with an impedance transformer.  I liked the sound of the 114 with a Fishman Loudbox Mini... not so much with the Street Cube or direct into a Bose L1 Compact; an EQ pedal made a nice difference, though.
