New member Taylor owner
« on: February 10, 2013, 08:42:37 AM »
I am a new member and I have been a Taylor owner for 15 years. With my first one being a 955e in 1998 And 6-7 months later I traded in my Martin 6 string in for a Taylor k14ce cedar top and that is how I got my name cedarkoa599 for I bought this one in May 99. I have since then bought and sold a Big Baby, and a R Taylor style1 (GS) and traded in for a Taylor BTO GA  Sinker/Cocobolo with adi braces in Aug of 2012.

Hi cedarkoa599 and welcome! :) So I take it that you LOVE your cedar koa enough to adopt its wood as your user name? ;) How does the sinker/coco compare tone wise? Is one warmer than the other?

Nice to have you here. Please pull up a chair and relax! :D

The cocobolo /sinker is a grand piano sounding. Cocobolo has more bass than the Koa/ cedar and sinker has more headroom than the cedar , with each note and chords with such clarity is another thing Cocobolo/ Sinker brings to the table. What is similar is that they both have that warmth and sparkle which is  what I fell in love with Taylor back in 1998. Now these guitars are about 15 years apart and I would have to say the sinker/ cocobolo is a tad warmer and these woods paired together  : do make a perfect match! :)
