Hi Coldshot, thank you for the info, you guys have some really good threads over on the AGF.

You are right it is a misunderstood guitar.  I have been wanting one for several years but really didn't take them seriously or even play one - I just heard them at Road Shows and of course I just always thought the product specialists could make my old Yamaha sound great.

Now that I have been playing it I see what everyone means - it's so versatile.  I too like the 2, 4, and 5 positions - played mostly thru an electric amp just on clean right now until I figure out which acoustic amp to get.  I don't gig or open mic......yet - my resolution this year is to get out and play with others more.  The 3 position is good too as I like the Tele sound so I guess the only position I don't care for right now is 1 but that could change once I got hooked up to a proper amp or PA system.

I've been experimenting with the controls and I can tell there are limitless options with this guitar as to the sounds you can get from it.  In some ways I wish I had discovered this guitar first - I love my 516, K66, and my terz guitars but this is really all someone like me needs - living room player who occasionally gets into some electric playing.

TaylorPlayer516:

Lemme know when you want to jam; I don't live too far from you, and I would love to see your collection. Who knows, you may even want to join my band(s).   ;D

Uh-oh, called out.....here's a pic I took when I unboxed it.  I've been trying to get some good pics of it but the front is so darn shiny there is always a reflection.

I don't know why it's sideways - it shows up the right way when I open it on my desktop.....grrrrrr.....computers.  I hate them sometomes!!!!!!

Nice Taylorplayer516.  Mine is the same color combo, but spruce top.  Well now the proof of ownership is in the picture.  ;) :) :D ;D

Never met a T5 I did not like!
I have lots of posts on amps/pedals/ strings/ running A/B boxes/ and pretty much all things T5.
Just remember it is a different animal - not a Les Paul or an 814ce. It is a T5 and will do whatever you need as long as you understand that simple truth.
Coldshot and I have traded many T5 ideas along with others here and on AGF (back in the day).
Lots of great information, so just enjoy and have fun.
