New member in Owensboro, Kentucky
« on: November 12, 2012, 09:35:28 PM »
Hello, I'm just joining this forum although I've been a Taylor owner for 15 years or so. I just sold my 2005 810 acoustic, and replaced it with a GS8e, mainly to get the expression pickup system. I'm loving the sound of the GS. I play mostly rhythm for bluegrass, country, and some gospel. I'm a retired photographer.  I play every week with a group of old retired farts like myself, and we call ourselves "The Arthritis Boys". I started playing in high school, about 60 years ago, and haven't gotten any better since.

Welcome to the forum.  The Arthritis Boys sounds like a fun group to be in.   ;D

Yes, about the only people who have ever heard of Owensboro are NASCAR fans.  We're also known for the Hayden motorcycle racing family, birth town of Johnny Depp, and we've got the largest sasafrass tree in the world. And yes, our group is a fun bunch. We play weekly at a couple of senior citizen locations, and jam every Wednesday afternoon at the local American Legion post.

Welcome aboard!  Another retired photographer - I did that for 32 years (M. Photog. Cr., CPP)... similar backgrounds.  I'd bet you had a motorcycle and a VW somewhere along the way, too?  Nice to have you here.

Best wishes,

You got it Jim.  I've had several VW's including the 1997 Eurovan Camper that I have now.  I also have a Suzuki Burgman 650 scooter.  BTW, where did you have your photography business?
