Hi All!

Just picked up a 2008 Taylor 414ce. First Taylor, and couldn't be more excited.

Any tips/ suggestions are welcomed. Looking forward to learning and sharing information on the boards!

Hi Ted and welcome to the UTGF! :) The 414ce's are excellent guitars. The GA body style offers incredible sound while being a little easier on my shoulders to hold than the dred or GS styles. And ovangkol offers a stunning tonal quality especially for the price! Congrats on your guitar. May you have many years of enjoyment with it! :D

Welcome scoobyted!

The 414ce has become one of Taylor's more popular examples of its signature sound. I've yet to play a bad one. Hope you enjoy yours as well!

Hello to all!

Thanks for the warm welcome.  Picked it up from a collector on craigslist.. he had some elixir strings on it, not sure what gauge.

Anyways, ordered a few sets of D'Addario strings. Gonna try a few different sets, and see what happens! I tend to enjoy a light, brighter sound, almost snappy? Hard to explain on the internet..

Any suggestions on strings for these taylors?

side note - pictures do not do this thing justice. Absolutely beautiful.
