Guitar Case Cover
« on: March 18, 2012, 01:43:41 PM »
Hi everyone,

I am on the search for a guitar case cover.

Does anyone know if this guitar case cover(posted link underneath) will fit the Ameritage Cover the Style 2 R. Taylors come with?

http://www.ameritagecases.com/details.php?sku=AME-10CB&cat=Accessories&line=Protective_Case_Covers&pname=AME-10_Classic_Guitar_Case_Cover

Thanks!

So let me get this straight... this is a cover to protect the case that is designed to protect the guitar inside. I wonder if there is a case for the case... :-)

I air travel a lot and sometimes I get asked to check in the guitar. This will add protection to the guitar itself.

it looks  like that case cover should fit, but i think it's designed for
the AME-10 acoustic classic (not classical) case, so it's likely a bit larger -
the AME-20 is the dreadnought (RTS3?) case & the AME-11 is the OM case,
but the AME-11 is probably  closest in dimensions to the RT Style 2 case

there is a AME-11CB

line=Protective_Case_Covers&pname=AME-11_%22OM%22_Martin_Case_Cover

this case cover may work as well, although it may be a tad big
http://www.ameritagecases.com/details.php?sku=C-2008-
070&cat =Overstock&line=Overstock&pname=Case_Cover

there also 'small dog' case covers & i think this shows case dimensions
that the cover is designed for (scroll down to ameritage, 82AME11)
http://www.bluegrasscenter.com/guitsmaldg.html

the small dog covers are insulated & i would contact ameritage
to see if their covers are also, as well as to verify the correct size

it's all about why you play ...

MMR, are you asking about a case cover for the Ameritage case the RT style 2's come with?  If so, Taylor used to make a custom case cover for the RT guitars they sold.  I got one with my RT2 last December.  You may want to contact any of the former R Taylor dealers to see if they can order one for you.  Alternatively I guess you could contact Taylor Guitars directly about ordering one.  I believe these covers are made by Ameritage - they are dark blue with R Taylor embroidered in script on the top.  Good luck with this.
