IDOL...
« on: March 16, 2012, 12:36:51 AM »
Couple things about American Idol this week:

First, I agree with Jennifer Lopez: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ4pNlvt0m8&feature=related

Second, if you watched it tonight, my buddy Elvio Fernandes is Daughtry's keyboard player: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHL2LT6qOPU&feature=share. He was singing backing vocals, too...

They've got an amazing/talented group this year.

I'm still pulling for Phillip Phillips...that guy rocks!   8)

Joshua Ledet won me over last night. That was just a ridiculous performance.

I'll be rooting for him through to the end...

Again I agree, I hope he goes far into the finals with Joshua

Steve: Daughty is one of the few guys you hear anything about anymore.  I have seen him on tv about 6 times including 3 times on Idol.  I think he has done better than most of the winners over the years.

Carrie Underwood is still the biggest star to come off that show!  Kelly Clarkson does great, but nowhere near as good as Carrie!  I really like Daughtry and still can't believe that dork Taylor Hicks beat him!!!  Hope Phillip Phillips goes a long way this year!!

I really like Phil Phillips (and Dave Matthews) but think he needs to break away from the Dave Matthews sound alike a bit more to show versatility.

Been saying this since day 1.  That act will only get him so far.  I have a hard time watching him.

My favorite guy so far is Joshua.  Favorite girl....not totally sure, but thinking perhaps Hollie (the little blond girl).

I have to agree.  Joshua has a great voice and no arrest warrants.  Hollie packs a big voice for a small package.  I still am voting for Phillip, and Joshua.  We will see what happens tonight.

Correction: my favorite guy is Colton.  I've actually liked him the best from the beginning - like his style and originality.  Joshua might me technically 'better' but I like Colton's indie vibe.  The girls aren't impressing me as much as the guys this year.

I agree Rebecca.  I thought Colton's piano man was the performance of the night.  Both artistically and vocally.

My man Phillips is safe...

He butchered "Movin' Out".

He's showing himself to be a one trick pony. Phillips wants to be Dave Matthews so bad it's funny...

This last week Phillip used a Gibson guitar and was put in the bottom three.  Is there a correlation?

He didn't get booted, so I'll say "no".

Phillips, despite doing what he does very well, needs to go. No one since Dave Matthews has someone wanted to be Dave Matthews more than Phillips does. He needs to teach his pony a new trick.

I was happy to see the kid with the hair, DeAndre, get the boot. He irritated me.

My faves right now are Joshua Ledet, Colton Dixon and Elise Testone. There's also that kid Jessica Sanchez who belts it pretty good. She's also a San Diegan, so she gets a vote, too...
