This normally falls on deaf ears, but here 'tis:

Counterfeit watches are a crime. Even if it says "Bolex", it's a counterfeit.

Counterfeiting has been linked to terrorism funding, organized crime, child labor violations, and environmental issues.  It’s not difficult to surmise that any replica or fake good is produced under circumstances that violate all kinds of laws.

Now, I'm not on some anti-counterfeit crusade, but most people, when they buy one, think they're just buying a cheap imitation. But the issues with counterfeiting go much deeper than that, and people who buy them should, at the very least, be aware of how deep...

My wife's cool with it but, to be honest, I haven't really put it to the test lately. I simply don't play guitar too much anymore. A little here, a little there, but maybe only an hour or two a month at this point, and that's being generous.

Now, if this question had to do with photography and photo gear, well, that'd be a completely different story...

 ;D

How about watches?  I suppose they are easier to hide...... ;)

Well, I suppose that's true.

That being said, I've spent a mountain more on camera gear than I have on watches. She's not too forgiving when it comes to the watches. For some reason, she believes that 16 is enough...

I'm a Sinn'er, got a UX. I thought this would be my 1st mechanical, but was concerned about the size and especially the additional height and so I went with the UX. Absolutely love it!

Sinn makes a nice watch.

I love a big watch.

My brother gave me a Tissot T-Touch Expert for my 50th last weekend. It's titanium, so it's light, but it's a good chunk of metal; about 44mm across, and maybe 15mm high. It's about a "9" on the "Stitch Scale", which is how many stitches it would take to close the wound if I caught someone across the forehead with it.

It's the only quartz watch I wear, really. My main "go to" is my Omega Planet Ocean XL (45mm), and then my Oris Williams F1 (40.5mm).

I'm picking up my Grandfather's old Fortis from the watchmaker on Tuesday. Grandpa died back in 2003, and Dad gave me his watch last year. I'm finally getting around to getting it overhauled. It's smaller than I'd normally wear (I think it's a 38mm) but, since it was Grandpa's, I'll certainly wear it from time to time. I'll get a nice strap and deployment clasp for it and it'll be a dedicated "dress watch"...
