Taylors and the big stage
« on: September 07, 2023, 11:58:57 AM »
Off topic alert here, but just wanted to share the GooGooDolls and OAR concert I was at the other night.  Lots of Taylors in use, particularly the GooGoos.

First off, the show was fabulous: every player was all on fire, clearly enjoying being "back" in the limelight.  And the mix was crisp, superbly balanced, and altogether a rockin fun show.  But to the Taylors, the many from GAs, to a DN, to an old Jumbo, and what I think was a GC, none of them used a soundhole plug.  None of them.  Now you all who have seen enough big names live know the large venue's high volumes have seen every acoustic on stage with a sound plug to kill feedback. Like the one Marty that was used had a plug.  To me this is so telling how the ES (who knows which version here, right?) is that feedback resistant when one knows how to mix.  Anyway, just sharing the fun here.  And that many of the Taylors were well worn was even cooler.  Play on folks, enjoy the love of these fabulous guits! :)
