Boss VE
« on: September 05, 2023, 09:25:22 PM »
Hi,
Anybody using a Boss VE8 with their Taylor ES2? I notice the volume is very low as compared to the vocal and I need to crank the guitar and pedal volume to get a decent match with the vocals on the pedal.
Not sure if there is a hidden guitar input gain anywhere.
Thanks

Hey there,

I don't use the Boss VE, but I do use the Harmony GXT.  As an option to the unit processing the guitar signal, there is a "through" jack for the guitar signal which means that the unit still "reads" the guitar but that signal is sent through the unit (dry, unaltered) for you to adjust gain (tone, etc) downstream, like at the console.  Sorry if this is an obvious question, but have you looked at the instructions and checked what the various input options are for the Boss?

Thanks Edward,
Found it...
I thought I had read the manual and couldn't find anything. After reading your reply, I went thru and found it on Pg 14 of the manual. It didn't say much about it but, it was there:

GUITAR INPUT SENS

Thanks for the kick in the butt to read the manual again...LOL
