Well, folks post when they feel like something prompts them to.  Like now! ;)

Bring a subject, raise a point, or vent about guitars, music, or playing (vent nicely, of course).  It's a community!  :D

As the old saying goes, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all".  I'm afraid that New Taylor (a nod to New Coke from back in the day) has managed to disenfranchise or alienate many of their legacy owners at this point.  There is not much worth commenting about lately.
   :(
Taylors:  424-LTD (all koa) and a 114ce that lives with friends in Alaska.  Low maintenance carbon fiber guitars are my "thing" these days, but I will always keep the koa 424.  Several ukulele and bass guitars too.
*Gone but not forgotten:  a 2001 414ce, 410, 354-LTD twelve string, 314-N, 416-LTD baritone, T5 Classic, 615ce, 2006 GS-K, 1996 (first year) Baby

Hey Earl,

Well yeah, there is that "new Taylor" formula thing, but that affects more of us that have the "legacy" builds that we don't want to part with.  Maybe it's an inaccurate assumption but I would think there is a whole new set up owner who are "normalized" to the current models since this is the factory's intent, or at least seems to be.

I'd rather have zero threads than multiple threads of inane nonsense like you see on many other forums. When did staying quiet when you have nothing to say become bad?

Now I know why there is no traffic here!

Enjoy your Taylors in silence!

I hope to enjoy mine!

Bye!

OMG Taylor Girl, you have a Std Poodle!

We lost our std poodle "Sasha" a few years ago.  She made it to 13, best dog we've ever had.

Enjoy that puppy!

Thank you, we are!
We found an awesome breeder who did so much for these pups before they went to their forever homes at 12 weeks. We love him, he's so smart. And, no accidents in the house,  yay!
Sorry to hear Sasha has left you, but she sounds amazing!

There is a lot of truth in this statement.

And BTW, even though things can be kind of slow around here at times, (for Earl's and other reasons) I'm fine with it. I have participated in some "high-volume" guitar forums in the past, and found the many ill-informed posts, extreme political correctness, and downright rudeness a big waste of time.

I find the tone here respectful and often collegial. And the collective wisdom here is off the charts (without being snooty or snobby).

Everyone has to find the places that work best for them. For me, it's here.

This is a Very Good place to ask questions and post Want To Buy searches.

There is a lot of collective wisdom here, and folks are glad to share.

I have a few 90s Taylors, an RT custom, and a 2018 552ce 12x12.  I like them all, and enjoy them all.

I am not upset with Taylor for changing their building and models. They have always done that!  And judging by current sales and production numbers there are LOTS and LOTS of folks who dig what they are putting out.

Lastly, the folks at Taylor Repair in El Cajon are AWESOME!  If you need something fixed and want it RIGHT, they are about impossible to beat!  Nice people , too.

Cheers

Paul

I personally welcome whatever discussion, questions, or banter folks have ...all of which make it a comfortable and friendly community.  And all you folks make it a GREAT place to hang out.  Got nothing to add except  :) :D ;D

Well , I have not been around lately due to two injuries to my left hand : an accident that took off a pretty good size chunk of skin on my left thumb … right where the thumb contacts the neck, followed by damage to my left index finger knuckle , which made a C chord next to impossible for quite a while . Both from improvement accidents. The injuries have halted my guitar playing and had left me extremely discouraged and depressed for the better part of a year . I am finally feeling progress and have some hope thatI will be able to play again . Anyway that’s why I haven’t been around . Still love all my Taylor’s though and am not at all in the “new Taylor’s suck” camp . Let the music play

If it's not too impetuous for somebody with only 48 post to say it: Welcome back Guitar Cowboy.

May you heal quickly and completely!
