How Many NGD's Did We Have in 2022?
« on: January 14, 2022, 10:59:07 AM »
We have been running this thread each year to keep track of all our NGD's (new guitar day):
2013 - 118 reported NGD's
2014 - 169 reported NGD's
2015 - 112 reported NGD's
2016 - 160 reported NGD's
2017 - 137 reported NGD's
2018 -   88 reported NGD's
2019 -   82 reported NGD's
2020 -   60 reported NGD's
2021 -   61 reported NGD's

This is for 2022 NGD's, which includes Taylors AND non-Taylors, acoustic and electric. It can be new or new-to-you (used).

BE SURE TO NUMBER YOUR GUITAR IN YOUR POST (i.e. #xx), TO KEEP THE COUNT GOING. If the member does not number their guitar in their post, I will modify their post to add the number, so we all can see the count.

ALSO, LETS KEEP THIS THREAD JUST AS A COUNT.....PLEASE PUT ALL OTHER DISCUSSION (REPLIES) ABOUT THESE NEW GUITARS IN SEPARATE THREADS (we encourage separate detailed NGD threads). OTHERWISE THIS GETS TOO COMPLICATED AND CONFUSING (PICTURES OF, AND COMMENTS ABOUT YOUR NEW/USED GUITAR ARE ENCOURAGED). THANKS.

2 - 2019,  New-Old-Stock OM-28. 2022 playing season is starting and I needed an extra stage guitar.  This was selected locally and really checked all the boxes, even for a Martin OM-28.

9. Taylor 114e (my DN3 needed a little sister).
Never being able to master the guitar is both the worst thing and the best thing about the guitar.

2022 Taylor 114E
2011 Taylor DN3
1955 Gibson LG2

Grabbed a couple more Collings.  Those cases aren't coming back and I wanted a dread and om.  Got a D1 Traditional Baked Sunburst and an OM2 Traditional Adirondack.  Both (as would be expected) are above superb.  These would be 10 & 11.

Traded my Martin 000-15m for it and I couldn't be happier! :) Will be installing a LR Baggs M1A pickup shortly.

13 & 14.  After loving the tone, esthetics and quality of Lowden guitars for years, I picked up two while on the road last month.  There aren't many dealers around so while in Phoenix last month I planned a trip to Acoustic Vibes Music in Tempe and Heartbreaker Guitars in Las Vegas to evaluate Lowden's offerings. In the end I bought a F50 in Ancient Cuban Mahogany/Sitka and a F32e  (EIR/Sitka) for stage work. If you get the chance to visit the greater Phoenix area, I recommend Acoustic Vibes Music for a quiet, comfortable, calm experience.   These would be #s 13 & 14.

#16.  I got a Lowden Pierre Bensusan. I always screw up posting pictures…one of these: https://lowdenguitars.com/guitars/pierre-bensusan/ It’s flipping wonderful, but different enough in character to leave room for the voice of my 914ce. They coexist well.  ;D  Cheers!

#17 Taylor 322e Mahogany. Wanted a smaller body guitar as I am dealing with a bit of arthritis, and this fit the bill.
