Hello from Charlottesville, VA
« on: February 09, 2012, 01:16:58 PM »
I've owned several Taylors including an 810, 214, and a 355. I currently play a Rainsong S-OM1100N2, but am contemplating returning to the wooden acoustic fold. Thinking very seriously of purchasing a GA-8 with a short scale neck. I'd be really interested to hear from anybody out there who has ordered the short scale, especially on a GA body. Having been an AGF member since 2006, it's interesting to come over to UTGF and see so many familiar usernames.

Welcome to the forum. How does the Rainsong compare in tone to the Taylors?

Thanks guys. A comparison between my Rainsong and Taylor is a tough one considering the vagaries of shape, wood, and the fact that I'm no good at describing tone. The Rainsong has a very resonant, bell-like tone. I'd have to play my guitar side-by-side with a specific Taylor to provide a better comparison or leave the comparison to others who are better versed in tonal comparisons...
