I also think it's a very neat concept.  I've previously posted on the AGF to see if anyone's tried it...but didn't get any responses.  Since it integrates with the Baggs Element UST, I'm guessing that's pretty much what it'll sound like (but I've never used a guitar with the Baggs Element...so that's still a mystery to me).  It supposed to integrate with the ES controls though, so it'd be interesting to see how much tone control you'd have.

I haven't jumped on it or any other replacement alternative yet because I'm relatively happy with my ES' tone and simplicity of use.

I saw that no one had responded that's why I googled to see what type of system it is.

in order to utilize the ES power supply (i believe it must be a 9V), the
ES connector has to have a certain 4 pin configuration for it to function,
which is noted on an Align XT that's on an auction site, but i'm not sure
if there are other pin cofigurations offered from Mi Si that will accommodate
any of the other versions of the 9V ES power supply CAT 5 style connectors

if for some reason, there is no place to plug in the charger or if
it has been forgetten a TRS 1/4" to TRS 1/4" cable can be used &
the positive & negative terminals on a loose 9V battery can be 'jumped'

here's a bit more about the Align XT
http://cadam7777777.blogspot.com/p/mi-si-pickups.html

i haven't used the Align XT, but i have the Element active system,
which is supposedly the same UST that is used ... i like the Element :)

i was just wondering if the eastmans happened to be custom models
http://www.guitarsplususa.com/eastman-acoustic-custom.shtml
there are some pretty unique ones, with the mi si acoustic duo vt system ...
i'd like to find an ac422 to try out, as the ac412 sounds pretty impressive

hi Steve,
thanks for the heads up :)
i was wondering if it is a natural 2 matrix in your guitar & if you've
had a chance to compare the matrix VT to the Matrix Infinity ???

i had a walden g3000ce with the ellipse blend &
i thought it sounded pretty good as well :D

Hi all, I've tried both the duo (soundhole) and Align XT.  I sent both back.  Here are my thoughts.

I was attracted to the duo because of it lo profile design and lighter weight than the sunrise.  But run flat into my Rivera and the duo sounded really awful...the sunrise sounded much better...night and day (forgive the pun).

My desire was to dual source with the align ad here is what I ran into.  Connecting the ES wiring harness (must be 9v) to the align XT was easy...the system is designed to work directly with the ES 9v.  When replacing the preamp with the XT though I had some major issues because the knob arms on the ES preamp are longer than those of the XT.  In other words, after removing the ES preamp and placing the bushings onto the XT I found the ES rubber knobs would grip enough of the knob arm and came off very easily.  I called customer service (excellent by the way) and tried to get a fix.  I found out that an unnecessary nut and washer needed to be removed...still though, the knob arms wouldn't grip enough to make me comfortable.

Sound wise, with the XT, I was unimpressed.  For some reason, the sound I was getting was way overdriven and very different from the standard baggs element active setup.  I was pretty bummed that it didn't work, tried to make a few adjustments-but to no avail.

I've since gone with a sunrise and k&k pwm.  Totally passive, no batteries and they sound great blended together.

Having said all that, many people are satisfied with both the duo and XT...though I've found less reviews on the XT system.  They just weren't for me.
