PSA: How to embed YouTube Videos here on the UTGF :)

Hi UTGF!

Over the years, I've had people ask how to embed a YouTube video on the forum other than simply posting the direct link. That works too but then you have to select the link which takes you out to YouTube, vs just hitting the play button here on the forum.

Here's the steps to do that now:

1. Go to you Youtube and select whatever video you want to share.
2. Select the "Share" arrow right below the video and a pop up window will display.
3. Select the "Embed" option and another partial window will display and you'll select all that code, right click and select Copy.
4. In your forum post, simply paste that code between the following: You'll literally have to type out the "html" with the brackets. I tried to type it out here, but since it's html, it disappeared and hence I had to use a picture of what to type.
5. You can either preview or post it.  That's it!

For example here's the sticky Taylor Guitar video on their channel: Builder's Edition Collection | Teaser

OMG THIS IS AMAZING

Thank you Josh, this is really helpful. I went ahead and made this a "sticky" so people could find it.

Tried this a few times, but couldn't get it to work. When I hit post, it just put the code part of

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/5wTVLIZaxMk" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

with no "[html's]" and [/html's] to bracket the code
on the screen and the html's just disappeared. And no video link appears.
(The apostrophes are my way of keeping the html's in this message.)

Original youtube url is:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wTVLIZaxMk
which created the code to use between the "html's"

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I have been able to navigate the method on agf to post videos and was hoping I could get this one to work on utgf.

- - - >>> I think maybe I figured out what went wrong. I can't right click on my laptop. I tried the "two finger on pad" click, and that just puts it into a file in the download section. (ALT+click) is supposed to simulate a right click also, but same result
(sigh).

Any fixes any one know of?

I tried simply keyboard copying the code between "html's", but that doesn't work.

Goodnight.

Don
