Thanks to Josh for the invite. I'm Paul Tobias from Tobias Music in Downers Grove, IL. I've been lurking on the site for a few years, but kind of faded out as things at the store got a little crazy. Our store has been open for almost 40 years, but recently had the opportunity to purchase our building. With all the extra space, we've added a very cool 90 seat concert / events room where we host live music and in-store events including Taylor Guitars Road Shows. We used to host our Road Shows off site, now we can host them in-house. We have hosted Taylor shows for 10 consecutive years.
My parents had the pleasure of meeting Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug back in the early '80's. We were one of Taylor's original dealers, with a relationship going back almost 35 years.
With the purchase of the building, we also had the opportunity to add a Taylor Guitars Premier Showroom in our store. With the help of Taylor Guitars, we renovated the front showroom and created a one-of-a-kind Taylor Guitars experience with over 65 guitars on display. Hi Paul,
I've known about your store but haven't ever been there. I got back into guitar after moving away from Chicago but may need to plan a visit sometime as your store looks amazing and you have devolved a great reputation in the area.

I purchased a used 714 from Tobias Music a few years ago over the phone and had it shipped. Excellent customer service and very friendly folks up there!

Thanks NavyChap, we have had a long history with the folks at Taylor. The new showroom is a nice addition. Taylor was a BIG help in this project. Though I'm glad the renovations are completed !!

Hi Paul, I grew up in Arlington Heights and now live northwestern Illinois, not too far, maybe an hour and 15 from DG . I will definitely make it a point to stop in the next time I'm heading back into the suburbs and I'll keep an eye open for your next Taylor Road show.

I'll try to reserve June 28th . Not quite to Galena, but it is an easy 1/5 hrs from there. We go there a couple times a year. I am near Dixon , IL . Looking forward to the Road show !!!

Wow...I bought my first guitar from you guys back around 1990 and it was a base model Washburn and I don't remember the model. I still have it and although it sounds great the small frets and action make it hard to play. I will have to come up and see you guys again. Great shop from what I remember!
