Title: My Taylor and I have landed.
Post by: Rob_J on January 28, 2013, 01:47:08 PM
Just flew in from an internet search looking for like minded Taylor owners.  Since I just acquired a used Taylor 414ce, I thought I'd start looking for a group of folks who are well informed about Taylors to ask questions of and share stories.

I have a really nice Martin that I love but have always wanted a Taylor even though I can't put into words the reason that Taylor kept calling my name. There are just so many things about Taylors that make them special and some of those things can't be described in words because they are not seen, but "felt" and/or heard.

My used Taylor is about seven years old and has seen a lot of playing time before I got it. It will continue to see a lot of playing time in my hands. Because it's been around the block a time or two it's had several years to open up and has developed a great un-plugged tone. Unfortunately, I am less excited about it's tone when plugged in, but that's a topic for another thread to come. Something that I want to remedy so I'll be looking for some insight from you guys and gals in future posts.

I'll plan on posting a photo or two later of my new/old guitar later. I look forward to reading and sharing Taylor stories.

Welcome to the UTGF, Rob! The 414ce is an awesome guitar and provides a LOT of bang for the buck! There are many people here who will be able to help you decide the best remedy for your plugged-in tone when you are ready to approach the topic. Until then, nice to have you here and am looking forward to seeing more of you. :)
