Acoustic Musicians Review of the Taylor 214ce
« on: October 29, 2014, 11:01:07 PM »
When I started playing acoustic guitar in high school I knew one thing…I wanted a Taylor guitar. I spent 9 years earning my stripes, grinding away countless hours of practice, performing in empty coffee shops and dusty bars before I felt I was in a position to make that desire a reality.

I play left handed, so getting a genuine feel for a guitar is near impossible before swiping a credit card and having it ordered. With the 214ce in my price range, I tested a righty at the local music shop and immediately knew that it was the guitar for me. I’ve been playing the Taylor 214ce for over a year now and still brag about it’s overall look and playability.

Welcome to the forum and nice job on the review as well as your web site! Taylor makes quality products throughout their line. Many of my "old" pro friends use 200 series guitars for gigging and they all sound great.

Excellent playing on your website. The difference between your Fender and your new Taylor on your home page is astounding. As you progress, I'd recommend you try out the GC series guitars, they are fantastic fingerstyle instruments.

Good luck and thanks for posting!

Thanks for the feedback and for checking out the review. I'll definitely look into the GC series as I continue playing and investing into additional guitars!

Overall, I'm extremely happy with my decision to pick up the 214.

Welcome Brad, and thanks for sharing!  There is no feeling doing what you love for a living is there?  I am a big fan of the GC size body and highly recommend it.  They may not take the heavy strumming you do but if you lighten up your touch, I bet you'll be impressed as well.

Cool story.  I know exactly how you feel.  I'll never forget getting my first Taylor, a '97 410.  So happy for you!  The 214ce is a fantastic guitar!!
