Hello from the UK
« on: January 16, 2017, 06:35:06 AM »
Hi All,

New to the forum and a new Taylor owner.  Glad to make your anonymous and electronic acquaintance!

I've only been playing for two years, but decided that a step-up was justified and so opted for a T5z.  What a fantastic guitar and definitely one of my better decisions.  I'm already eyeing a GS Mini-e.  Could this be the start of an expensive addiction?

I'm now off to trawl the site...

Welcome to the forum Keith.  That is a fine first Taylor you choose.  Congratulations on that.  You call it an expensive addiction and yes it can be.  I call it GAS, guitar acquisition syndrome.

Welcome Keith......to the forum and to the "very addicting" world of Taylor. Congrats on your new T5z. Would love to see pictures of it, if you get the chance.

Keith, I think you'll find this forum to be very refreshing. I recently joined and have been pleasantly surprised by the lack of ego and bickering that you may find on other types of forums.

Enjoy your new Taylor. It'll be the start of a gorgeous long-term relationship!

Thanks all for the warm welcome - sounds like a very friendly forum.  As someone relatively new to guitar I'm sure I'll get a lot out of the site.

I shall, of course, take a photo of my pride and joy and upload it.  I'll probably feel a bit geeky doing that, but what the hell: the T5 is a thing of beauty!

I understand these sound awesome with a splitter box and an electric amp, too.

Acoustic/electric stereo bliss...

Cheers

Thanks both.

And Paul - I don't have a splitter but I have just bought a BOSS RV-6, which sends the signal to two amps.  In my case that's a Marshall and a Yamaha THR10 (on acoustic setting of course).  Sounds superb.  The problem is that for the times when I have no RV6 and only one amp it all sounds a bit...naked.
