when I went on a factory tour, they were working on the fall ltd koa GA. the tour guide asked us not to leak photos, but said we were welcome to take them.
I'm surprised that message wasn't conveyed on your tour, and if it was, you should probably respect their request.
I'm guessing that is the case, especially since dealers are supposed to be tight lipped until release date. I appreciate the gesture of sharing info, but Taylor wouldn't appreciate it
if I'm wrong, then sorry in advance. I'm basing my opinion on historical data.
I recognize that you don't know me, but I can assure you that if I was asked (or intimated) to not share the photos, I certainly wouldn't have posted them. I, too, was surprised that they were forthcoming with details about the Spring Limiteds. There were at least 35 of us in the group and a few of the participants were asking questions of the tour guide about the upcoming series. Perhaps they (Taylor) don't mind if some of this gets leaked out to build intrigue and suspense? I don't know.
It seems reasonable to me that dealers are asked to not share details before Taylor does. The dealers, while independent, are representing the Taylor brand so official information would be more tightly controlled and managed. In my case, I'm a tour-goer that may or may not be telling the truth or getting all of the facts straight. I heard what I heard and I am sharing it with the public...but, I'm not a representative of the organization and, thus, if I am incorrect or distorting the "facts" who is to care? It is hearsay and nothing more than that.
One more thing, I have nothing to gain personally by sharing this information. If anything, I'm helping Taylor build interest in their soon-to-be-released limited editions. That can't be a bad thing in this day and age.
Again, my intention wasn't to in any way harm Taylor. My remarks are only positive about the experience and the forthcoming guitars. Cheers!
