Regarding the bridge plate:  In Tony Polecastro's review of the 712e FLTD and 714ce FLTD on his Acoustic Letter (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5CgxyO2K5Y&list=PLJ-sJIJnoTdUpejYU60P_dD7HZuqlcnie), he says the bridge plate is made of grenadillo.

Played one of these today... very interesting sounding guitar. It had the clarity and articulation of maple, but with a bit more midrange and warmth. Would have been fantastic if it just had a bit more punch. I played a myrtlewood Breedlove at the same time that had all that, but I didn't like the neck.

Come to think of it, makes me curious how a myrtlewood GA or GS would sound.

I have a myrtlewood GA. It sounds similar to the descriptions given for Sassafras on this forum. Great clarity and balance, and now that it is 11 years old, lots of depth and warmth.
My Taylor Grand Auditoriums:

1997 Cujo14 - old growth cedar/black walnut
2014 K24e - master grade koa
2018 Custom GA - bear claw sitka spruce/mahogany
2019 614 - torrified sitka spruce/flamed maple
2020 714 - lutz spruce/rosewood
