First, I would like to thank my husband for this awesome guitar. He wanted me to have this, ever since he heard me play a 914ce at a music store. He told me that if I didn't order what I wanted, he would do it himself. With a threat like that, I just had to order one (of course, I fell in love with it too).

I decided to go "straight up" (no cutaway and no electronics). I have those bases covered already and thought the beautiful appointments on this guitar needed the symmetry of a non-cutaway.
This 914 is everything I expected it to be. A beautiful, rich tone, with a powerful low end. It has a voice unlike my others, so it is a nice complement to the group. It plays everything well, from the slower, more articulate songs to the bluegrass songs that I play with a small group. I am almost exclusively a fingerpicker and it does its job very well. The arm bevel is oh so comfortable too.
I'm sure you already know all about this redesigned 900 series. So, now some pictures. Trying to take pictures of these Taylors is difficult, because of the shine and reflection. So, I did my best.
