I love the pure acoustic Taylor's. Gonna be getting my 2nd in 2017. I bet that pure acoustic 416 is special. Layered rosewood for the 100 series should do well. And "new architecture for even more volume and dynamics", whatever that means. More interesting changes from Taylor.

in 2014, I bought a 416ce as a gigging guitar to protect the condition of my 916ce.  In the 2+ years I've had it, that "low end & basic" 416 has become one of my all-time favorite Taylors (and Lord knows, I've owned a LOT of Taylors!).  It plays like a dream and just sounds soooo good in just about every musical situation.
